One Wish (Kristine Series 18)

"There's a falling star!" Mirabelle exclaimed, then quickly stood up. Karl put both hands in the pockets of his shorts.

"What are you doing?" Karl was stunned.

"Making a wish," she answered softly, her cheeks against his back, her eyes closed. Karl was unable to speak.

She could smell the stranger's breath, like a soft wind brushing her ear. And they were in the middle of the ocean, a starry sky above them!
